Getinax is made by applying heat and pressure to layers of paper impregnated with synthetic thermosetting resins. When heat and pressure are applied to the layers, a chemical reaction (polymerization) transforms the separate layers into a single laminated material with a “set” shape that cannot be softened again. Thickness could be from 0,5mm till 100mm with good mechanical properties for normal electrical applications. It is used for construction material in machine and equipment building and as insulating material in the electrical industry.
