Composition

SURITEX® consists of a mica paper impregnated with a special solvent free silicon resin and a glass cloth as carrier. SURITEX® 0291 (0822) is incombustible, asbestos and halogen free and does not create toxic gases. Cables insulated with SURITEX® 0291 (0822) are fail-safe even at extreme temperatures (> 1000 °C). SURITEX® 0291 (0822) has a good radiation- and partial discharge-resistance as well as good mechanical and electrical properties. Type 0822 is based on phlogopite mica and exceeds type 0291, which is based on muscovite mica.

Application

SURITEX® 0291 (0822) is used for the production of fire-proof cables for public buildings, hotels, hospitals, subways, ships, plains, oil-platforms, steel mills, computer centres, astronautics etc. SURITEX® is taped on automatic taping-machines one or more layers onto conductors or cores.

Storage and shelf life

Unlimited under normal conditions (20 °C, 50 % r. h.).
